The Details - Things To Do

There are tons of adventures to be had on and around Lemon Lane Farm!
Check out our lists below for some ideas.

On the Farm

  • Yard Games - They are in the red wash bin on the front porch of the Farmhouse. Feel free to grab and take back to your site to play.  Please return all games before departure.

  • Fish - There is a pond on the property (see pond info in the checkin book upon arrival).  Poles and gear are in the fish shack by pond.

  • Swimming - You can also swim in the pond.  Feel free to grab floats out of the garage!

  • Walk/Hike - There are a few trails on property (see map in book).

  • Games and Cards - Stocked in each glampsite.

  • Visit - We love to chat! Come find us on the front porch of the Farmhouse, if we are home.

  • Athens Regional Park Bike Trail (1-hour drive)

  • Piney Falls (not listed as bike trail but locals ride them)

  • Black Mountain Trail in Grassy Cove/Crab Orchard (not listed as bike trail but locals ride them)

Road Biking*

  • Possum Trot Road - Turn right out of farm and ride 10 miles to Highway 68, turn around for a 20-mile hilly out and back.

  • Big Neck Road Loop off Possum Trot Road - Turn right out of farm and it’s just down the road a bit. Pretty views and ends about a mile further down Possum Trot.

  • Burdette Road in Grandview - Gorgeous farm scenery including the pretty Red Barn Farm as everyone calls it. Eventually this road ends back out on Highway 68. Best to turn around and go back the way you came - avoid Highway 68 biking.

  • Fire Tower Road in Grandview - Goes out to Piney Falls Trailhead and then a little further.  Left out of farm, ride Possum Trot, carefully cross 68 towards the left and Fire Tower Road is just up a bit on the left.

Caving/Climbing

Fishing

NOTE: You do not need a license to fish in our pond but you must have a TN license to fish in any public lakes such as Watts Bar or Chickamauga.  You can buy a tourist license at any Wal-Mart or at most marinas.

Kayak or Canoe

Spring City

  • Watts Bar Swimming Area (great place to launch to explore inlets)

  • Rhea Springs Park- VERY BUSY in Summer, much better spot during off season 

Dayton

  • Hiwassee Wildlife Center - Near Birchwood, take Hwy 60 East from Dayton across RN river bridge.  Access just across river on left, follow signs and put in at river.

  • Armstrong Ferry Recreation Area - Decatur

  • Opossum Creek - (30 miles south of Spring City) Put in at campground for small fee.

Crossville

  • Cumberland Mountain State Park - 50-acre lake that allows kayaks/canoes.  They also rent paddle boats and canoes.

Grandview

  • Whites Creek - EXPERT ONLY - Class 5, very difficult and only possible after high rains or in wet season.  Expert kayakers put in at the Whites Creek Bridge and end up 10 miles down the mountain in Spring City on Watts Bar Lake.  Turn right out of farm and you hit the bridge where you put in in about 3 miles.
